Create a grocery list at the same time as the menu plan for the whole week and book a time for one of you to complete the grocery shopping. This will reduce the number of last minute mad dashes to the store.

Menu planning tip number 3:

Plan one meal into every week that is a premade option, frozen meal or fresh that day from the store and book one meal that is take out. This allows you two nights a week that are no pressure for cooking. The other nights split up the meals so that you and your partner are each cooking a couple of times per week. This automatically will make both of you feel more connected, supported and part of the same team.

Menu planning tip number 4:

At lunch everyday chop up vegetables for supper get meat needed out of freezer, etc. to pre-prep your meal for that night. Then leave dinner and you don’t have to think about for the rest of the afternoon. Another fun tip is one night a week a family favorite (i.e. taco night, pizza night, breakfast food for supper or spaghetti night).
